We would like to invite you to the opening of the new installation ROXY Visuals vol. 17, which will take place in our club ROXY in ROOM 8.
Roxy, in collaboration with Galerie NoD, is preparing a brand new site-specific installation of artworks ROXY Visuals vol. 17, which continues the more than decade-long tradition of showcasing contemporary Czech art within the backdrop of the legendary music club.
The current edition of artworks, subtitled Contemporary Art at Night, has been created for specific locations by five prominent Czech artists (Jiří Černický, David Böhm & Jiří Franta, Karel Štědrý, and Vojtěch Veškrna), who have long been fixtures on both the Czech and international art scenes. The curatorial concept of the installation and the collection of artworks was prepared by Galerie NoD curator Pavel Kubesa.
The newly conceived concept aims to redefine the relationship between contemporary art and the specific atmosphere of a nightclub. The individual artistic interventions present a wide variety of aesthetic and formal approaches that viewers may encounter in contemporary art. The goal of the exhibition concept ROXY Visuals – Contemporary Art at Night is to open up contemporary art and its themes to new contexts, situations, and audiences, and to present it through site-specific installations created directly for the given space.
The opening of the current edition ROXY Visuals vol. 17 will take place at club ROXY in the ROOM 8 space on Friday, May 23 at 9:00 PM.
