Currently the most studied DJ name of the electronic underground scene and four-time holder of title The World's Best DJ by Resident Advisor poll - this is Dixon. But why?
1. He doesn`t push his social profile.
You don`t find his selfies or photos of enthusiastic fan crowds. Dixon looks very humanly, he is not pushy but confident in his approach and he does not need to stick their foot between the door. He has built his name without ads or sponsors and he stays in the game already for 22 years. This is pleasant change in the current pressure of endless changes of social images and it seems that this impressed many others.
2. Unpredictability
His sets are technically faultless and uncompromising in development. Every time starts differently, he can reacts to the time of day and especially to athmosphere of dancing crowd. It's also his ability to ferret out the gems of lesser-known artists in combination with house melodies and songs. He says 'house is a feeling' and he also obey by that. There is no one else who knows where his set will evolve - no one except Dixon himself. An example might be his 10-year-old Body Language Vol. 4, or mix Boiler Room 2015.
3 Lost In The Moment - rave promoted to art
The unique concept of last moment classified parties across Europe is another reason of respect that is used by Innervisions for DJ community and among fans. They were many times canceled at the last minute by the local police (Barcelona, Amsterdam) but more ofter it ends as hilarious parties lasting day and night in direction by Dixon, Ame and their guests in places that were not used or even predestined for this purpose. The atmosphere of such a place is unrepeatable and the moment must be unforgettable for every clubber.
4. Perfectionist and hard worker
When Berlin was ruled by minimal, he played house and he was still searching for the perfect songs. We can nicely say "he made house the his home". His every move is just another step to dream perfection. He realizes that the audience always expect every set to be different and full of the latest tracks. But what does his work and sets perfect are individual moments and often return to the roots. He only plays the songs that he really believes in.
