ALCEST (FR)

ALCEST, the French music project that gave birth to the genre of "blackgaze" - a mixture of post-black metal, post-rock and shoegaze. Founded in 2000 by Niege (Stéphane Paut) and joined by Winterhalter (Jean Deflandre) in 2009, the dreamy music of the band has inspired many others since its inception, such as Deafheaven and Harakiri For The Sky. ALCEST have announced the release of their new album "Les Chants de l'Aurore" (Songs of the Dawn), coming after 2019's darker and cathartic "Spiritual Instinct". They will also be stopping by Prague's Roxy club in November with a tour for the new album!
