The campaign for the forthcoming book on Roxy has been running for a few weeks now, but of course we can’t leave you in the dark about the details. At Dlouhá 33, something is currently taking shape that’s never been seen here before – a massive 500+ page publication that captures not only the history of Roxy, but the entire Czech club and alternative scene.
The aptly titled book, Roxy: Kopneš do plechovky a dva dny se tančí charts a full 100 years of the phenomenon that is the iconic venue at Dlouhá 33 – from its theatrical beginnings through the wild 1990s, when the Linhart Foundation breathed new life into the dilapidated ruin, right up to the present day, where week after week we create memories together.
It’ll be a proper ‘brick’ of a book, capturing the wild parties, the architecture of the underground labyrinth and everything that went on behind the scenes.
To ensure the book is published to the highest standard, we’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign on Donio.cz. And because we’ve put our hearts into this, we’ve opened up our archives and contributed pieces of history to the campaign that you won’t find anywhere else.
